1kg ALMOND MACADAMIA NUT SPREAD
Savoury nut butter toast with apple and red onion salsa
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutesIngredients:
250ml (1 cup / 150g) Granny Smith apple, finely chopped
125ml (½ cup / 75g) radishes, finely chopped
125ml (½ cup / 75g) red onion, finely chopped
125ml (½ cup / 75g) cucumber, finely chopped
60ml (¼ cup) sunflower seeds
5ml (1 tsp) lemon juice
salt and pepper
4 slices of sourdough bread
60ml (¼ cup) olive oil
125ml (½ cup / 125g) ButtaNutt Almond Macadamia nut butter
handful basil leavesDirections:
Combine the chopped apples, radishes, onions and cucumber. Stir in the sunflower seeds and lemon juice and season to taste. Cover and set aside.
Heat a large pan over medium heat. Brush the bread slices with the oil on both sides and fry until lightly charred and crisp, 2-3 minutes per side.
To assemble, spread the nut butter over each slice of toast and add the salsa on top. Garnish with some basil leaves.
TIP: This recipe is dairy-free but if you love cheese on toast then crumbling some soft goats cheese or ricotta on top of the salsa is perfect.
